Mrs. Becky Boak
“The best part about being a teacher is to watch each child grow and develop throughout the school year. The benefit of a small school is to get to know each family and watch as each child grows up!”
Get to know Mrs. Boak
My personal and professional journey has brought me all over both Ohio and Michigan. God has led me to teach and volunteer at many places. Most recently I taught at a small Catholic school in the Kalamazoo area much like Sacred Heart. There I taught preschool through second grade. I have volunteered in religious education and youth groups with children and families of all ages, pre-k-high school. Currently I am a parishioner at Sacred Heart. I spend my time with my husband, Nick and our 3 boys: Nick Jr (NJ), Boston, and Mathias. Together we enjoy summer days at the lake and colder weather watching movies, visiting indoor water parks, and spending time with our family and friends.
My goal is to reach each individual child. I get to know each one: his/her strengths, learning styles, and struggles. I find the method and words to reach each one and find the time for individual attention in a busy classroom.
Children learn best in a trusting, healthy environment where they are able to listen, observe, and explore their interests. I believe they are interested in their education when their classroom is filled with respect, consistency, and wonder. I strive to fulfill this for my students.
My Catholic faith is the integral part of my life. All learning is from God and through God. Faith is not only for religion class but in all subjects. We read stories about Christ and His Saints. Science is the study of God's creation. Math is the language of God.
I believe in Catholic education because the focus is not only on reading, writing, and arithmetic. Children learn to grow in love for God and one another. They learn to stand up for Truth. The goal is to form saints!
