Miss Jessica Dehn
Pre-K
Ms. Jessica has been the lead teacher at Sacred Heart Preschool for the past 11 years. She is a graduate of Hillsdale High School and Siena Heights University.
“I teach from the heart and I believe that learning should be fun and hands-on. I love what I do and all of my students.”
Classroom Culture
My preschool is a fun and nurturing environment where we not only learn ABC’s and 123’s, but we also learn how to be a clear image of God. The students show this through how they act, what they say, and what they do.

Religion is part of our daily morning work. The children gain an awesome foundation of the Catholic faith. We focus on learning letters and numbers, colors, patterns, but most importantly the children are learning obedience, honesty, patience, kindness and many other virtues. The children grow so much each year.
Our class is deeply centered around God. We start the morning with school wide prayer where our little 3 and 4 year olds have the opportunity to share some heartfelt prayers with the entire school and staff.

Bucket Filling and Dipping
Bucket Filling
Our classroom is a positive learning environment that we call Bucket Filling. We start the year with a bucket filling book. In the book, the children learn that doing and saying nice things makes you and others feel good. So, they are rewarded with a Filling your bucket sticker. Once they reach our magic number of stickers, the student receives a prize, and the process of filling your bucket continues.

Bucket Dipping
The children are also taught that while we all want to be bucket fillers, we are not perfect, and sometimes we might say or do something to hurt others. We call this bucket dipping. The student must then take a sticker out of the bucket and apologize to the person they hurt. We want to make everyone in the class feel the love of God and love each other.
